Check before you call

  • Push the leaf by hand with the release open. Any bind or scraping is a mechanical issue.

Which faults are common on Roger Technology brushless gate motors?
Heavy gates wear mechanically first, in the wheels, rails and rack. Electrical trouble is mostly an encoder or cable fault, a supply problem, or a board hit by heat, damp or a surge. Brushless motors contain no brushes that wear out, so the motor itself fails less often. We separate the two kinds of fault by pushing the gate manually, then testing supply, board and encoder.
Roger Technology gate seems lost after the electricity trips, why?
Operators with an encoder follow the gate's position electronically. An abrupt power loss, or a backup battery that cannot finish the cycle, can leave the board unsure of the gate's location, so it crawls or halts until it relearns the travel. We inspect the encoder, supply and battery, then reset the stroke. Frequent occurrences point to a supply or battery problem worth fixing.
Will a Roger Technology motor cope with a very heavy industrial sliding gate?
That depends on the gate's real weight, length and track, so we measure on site instead of guessing. Roger Technology publishes capacity ranges for its sliding operators, and we compare your gate to the fitted model. Rollers, rails and posts must be in good order. A gate that was extended or clad later may now exceed the operator's original rating.
What is covered in a Roger Technology gate service for a yard or compound?
The technician looks over tracks, wheels, rack and pinion gear, bolts and end stops, removes debris, greases moving parts, tests the manual release and reviews limit positions. Electrical work covers power feed, board, encoder, beams and edge sensors, followed by several cycles including a blocked-path test. Sand and grit gather in Dubai yards, so rails and rollers typically demand most effort.
What is the best way to prepare for a Roger Technology gate visit?

Should I choose a sliding gate or a swing gate for my Dubai villa?

A sliding gate suits a villa with a narrow driveway or a slope, because it moves along the boundary wall and needs no swing arc. A swing gate suits a villa with a flat, open forecourt and gives a classic look, but needs clear space for the leaves to open.

Which gate motor works best in Dubai heat?

A motor with a sealed control board, strong ventilation and a suitable duty rating copes best. Heat above 45 C can make cheap motors overheat and stop mid-cycle, especially when a gate is in direct afternoon sun or opens many times a day.

Choose a motor sized for the gate weight and usage, mount the control box in shade where possible, and keep the gate running freely so the motor never strains.
