Hi-Life is a name that appears on gate and door automation in the UAE, often with limited public documentation. That affects how we approach it: the unit in front of us tells the story.
We usually find them on villa gates, compound entrances and some glass sliding doors in areas such as Al Barsha and Al Quoz. Owners often do not know the model, and the original installer may no longer be reachable.
We are an independent company. We read the labels, trace the wiring, test the behaviour, and write down what the unit is and what it needs. That takes longer than looking at a catalogue, but the advice stays honest.
Before suggesting a board repair or replacement, we measure supply and test each safety input.
We cannot promise parts before seeing the unit. After inspection we tell you what can be sourced and what a compatible replacement would be.
For a new automation job we survey weight, size, track or springs, and the supply, then explain what fits. A service visit covers lubrication, release, limit settings, safety devices and an obstruction test. We work on sliding gates, swing gates, glass sliding doors and residential garage doors alike.
Summer sun heats control boxes, humidity brings damp into junction points, and sand collects in racks and tracks. Cleaning, sealing and a stable supply prevent a lot of repeat visits. If the gate belongs to a community or a managed compound, check with the building owner or community management before changes.
To plan the work, request a site visit and quote.
Parts: Gate Motor / Operator, Control Board (PCB), Remote & Receiver, Photocell Safety Sensors, Limit Switches, Hinges & Rollers, Rack & Pinion, Manual Release Key, Backup Battery, Warning Lamp
Safety firstDo not force a moving gate or a door held by a spring, and switch off the power before you look at an opener. Springs and motors can injure.

Yes, in most cases you should get written permission first. A tenant who changes the shopfront or fits a new door operator is altering the building, so the landlord, and sometimes the Owners Association or mall management, will usually want to see what is going in.
Ask your landlord what drawings or details they need. We can prepare a simple scope after a free site visit, covering the operator, glass, sensors and any power supply work. Approvals may be needed from community management or the authority, so confirm with them before work starts. See our automatic sliding glass doors page for the options.
Yes, provided it is specified and maintained for local conditions. Heat above 45 C stresses control boards and motors, and fine desert sand collects in the floor track and on the carriage wheels, which is the most common cause of noisy or slow doors.
A good installation keeps the controller out of direct sun, uses sealed brush strips at the head and jambs, and leaves the track easy to clean. Regular cleaning of the track and a check of the belt and rollers matter more in Dubai than in cooler cities. Our team installs and services sliding door operators across Dubai, and a maintenance contract keeps these checks on a schedule.
It depends on how the entrance was set up. Many sliding doors can be fitted with a battery backup that lets them open, or stay open, for a limited period. Without one, most can be pushed open by hand once the lock is released.
Decide what you want before installation: fail open, fail closed, or open on battery. For shops and clinics, a manual release plus battery is a sensible mix. Dubai Civil Defence requirements for fire exits may apply to escape doors, so confirm with the building consultant. Read our guide on automatic door power failure backup in Dubai for more detail.
