Maintenance plan

A maintenance plan for your doors and gates, explained

A maintenance plan is a written agreement for planned visits so that wear is caught before a door or gate stops. What is covered, how often we visit and what is excluded are agreed with you in writing.

What the visits look like

Visit names are common to most plans. How often each happens is set in your written plan, not on this page.

  1. Routine check

    • Run the door or gate through a full cycle and listen for change
    • Test sensors and safety edges with an obstacle
    • Clean track, sensor lenses and photocells
    • Check remotes and any access readers
    • Look at fixings, hinges, rollers and visible wiring
  2. Full service

    • Lubricate moving parts as the maker specifies
    • Check springs, cables and belts for wear
    • Inspect motor, gearbox and control board
    • Check limits, force settings and the manual release
    • Note parts nearing the end of life and tell you in writing
  3. Call-out between visits

    • You describe or film the fault
    • We inspect and tell you what we found
    • Any extra work is quoted before it starts

What we put in writing

A plan is only as good as its wording.

  • What is covered

Each door or gate is listed with the checks done on it.

  • What is not covered

Exclusions such as vandalism or work caused by others are stated, not hidden.

  • What we report

After each visit we tell you what we found and what needs attention.

  • How to end it

The plan states how you may stop it.

The first year of a plan

The order of events, without dates, because your schedule is agreed with you.

  1. At the start

    Survey

We list every door and gate, note its age and condition, and photograph the control boxes.

  2. After you agree

    First visit

A full service sets the baseline and anything urgent is reported.

  3. As agreed

    Routine visits

Checks follow the rhythm in your plan.

  4. Whenever it happens

    Fault call

You message us, we inspect and report.

  5. At renewal

    Review

We discuss what was found and whether the plan fits.
