Question
Why is my Life sliding gate motor rattling or clicking?
Rattling or ticking normally comes from a motor fixing that has loosened, a pinion biting the rack unevenly, or a gate roller that has broken. A gearbox short of grease sounds like grinding instead, while sand in the rack gives a rough crunch. We run the gate at low speed to pinpoint the origin, then adjust, grease or tighten. Swapping a worn pinion or roller spares the motor further harm.
