Question
What service records should I keep for automatic doors and gates?
Keep a simple file for each door or gate: the model and installation date, every service or repair date, what was changed, parts replaced and the remote and code lists. A clear record shows what is due and helps the next technician find faults quickly.
For a building, add a log of safety tests, such as the sensor reverse test and the power failure behaviour, and who signed them off. A shared folder or a photo of the service sticker is enough. Records also help when a landlord or insurer asks how a door has been maintained.
Mount Everest Automatic Doors can advise what to record for your doors. See maintenance contract to learn how scheduled visits work.
