How do I protect a gate motor from salt in the Fujairah Free Zone?
Choose a motor with a sealed housing, and keep the control box closed with its gasket in good order. Salt air reaches the board through gaps, so seal cable entries. Coated or stainless fixings help the rack and bolts last.
Wash the gate with fresh water and clear salt from the rack and rollers. Put a light grease on moving parts. Check the box for damp after wet weather, and replace a swollen seal. A small desiccant pack in the box can help.
