DEA gate motor clicks but nothing moves, where is the fault?

A click means something is switching, often a board relay, yet the motor is not turning. The cause could be a failed start capacitor, a seized motor or gearbox, a jammed gate or a release left disengaged. Low supply voltage can also make the board try and drop out. We test the supply, capacitor and motor output one by one to find the failing stage.
