Can a neighbour's remote open my garage door?

On a modern opener it should not. Current remotes use rolling codes, which means the code changes with every press, so a handset from another villa cannot open your door. Older fixed code remotes are different, because their code never changes and can occasionally match or be copied.

If your door opens for the wrong handset, or if the opener is old, the receiver and remotes should be replaced as a set. After any change, the new remotes are paired to your receiver only and lost handsets are cleared from memory, so nobody else can use them.
