What we did

Our team completed a garage door installation in Umm Al Quwain, UAE. The photo shows the door from inside, which makes the working parts easy to see. A white sectional door made of five horizontal panels fills the opening, with steel tracks on both sides and a spring shaft running across the top. A ceiling-mounted opener with a built-in light hangs from a rail attached to the door, and a black cable runs along the steel framed roof above. Cream coloured pillars stand on both sides, and an electric vehicle charger is mounted on the wall at the right. Sectional garage doors lift in horizontal panels that curve onto overhead tracks, which makes them a practical choice where there is little space in front of the garage. A normal installation covers the tracks, the panels and hinges, the spring system, perimeter seals and the opener. Careful levelling of the tracks and correct spring balance are what give a door its smooth, quiet movement. A short routine keeps a sectional door dependable. Once in a while, disconnect the opener and lift the door by hand: it should move easily and stay in place at about half height. Listen for scraping from the rollers, look for gaps in the bottom seal, and make sure the safety reverse works when the door meets an obstacle. Anything involving the springs or cables should be handled by a trained technician.
