My gate or garage door keeps reversing instead of closing. Why?

Most likely the safety photocells think the path is blocked. A dirty lens, a misaligned pair or sun on the receiver breaks the beam, so the system reverses although nothing is there. In Dubai, dust on the lenses is the usual culprit. We wipe and realign the sensors, then check wiring and board settings. The safety function stays switched on.
