A solid leaf catches wind like a sail, so a gust may push against the operator, trigger the obstruction setting or even bend the arm. Louvred or slatted leaves let air through, and a stronger operator with an electric lock holds a closed gate steady. Tell us if your gate faces open ground, as in Arabian Ranches, and we choose an operator and force limits to cope. ## Related questions - [Should I choose a sliding gate or a swing gate for my Dubai villa?](https://meautodoors.com/faq/should-i-choose-a-sliding-gate-or-a-swing-gate-for-my-dubai-villa) - [Can I operate my automatic gate or door from a smart home app?](https://meautodoors.com/faq/can-i-operate-my-automatic-gate-or-door-from-a-smart-home-app) - [One side of my double gate opens before the other.
